Support

Through the years, a lot of people have made donations to help support the space. Unfortunately, we can not acknowledge them all.

The following sponsors have helped support major events, public fund-raisers and other actions by Tokyo HackerSpace. This page serves as a permanent, public “Thank You!” to all you.

Inventory Database hosted by PartsBox.io

Partsbox.com is an inventory management system optimized for electronics components but ideal for all manner of inventory for small to medium shops, stores, manufacturers and makerspaces.  Keep track of storage locations, part variants, purchasing, link parts to projects (and pull a whole project from inventory at once), and generate reports.
A feature specific to electronics parts is automatic Pricing availability from popular distributors such as Arrow, DigiKey, LCSC/JLCPCB, TE and TME.
Partsbox supports makerspaces around the world by providing free (limited) service for space inventory management.
There is also a free personal version for one user, with a limited number of parts.

Ultimaker: 3D printer donation

In 2015, Ultimaker donated an Original kit printer to the hackerspace, providing our first "new" printer. It has served well, and though no longer in active use (we have since acquired several other printers), still holds pride of place in the space.
Ultimaker provides free of charge to the world the Cura 3d printer software, which supports printers by dozens of competitors. We recommend Cura for all our printers, regardless of maker.

Alan Michael Ware: Printrbot Play 3D printer donation

Alan introduced us to the Printrbot Play. Well, we already knew about it, but Alan illustrated WHY its such a popular printer. At the time, he was teaching digital fabrication to school children in a variety of schools. He had the need for a mobile digital fab classroom. The play is all metal, super robust, easy to fix when it breaks, and you can fit several of them snugly in a suitcase. Which is exactly how he brought 2 of them to Japan "just for fun."  Its the best "travel printer."  Even after closing down the company years ago, the Play remains a highly popular printer among makers.
We keep our play around specifically for an outdoor festival in a local shrine, where we print event "coins" for kids.
